Hulk [2003]

VHS

For me, Hulk is a surprising and enjoyable movie. It is faithful to the Marvel Comics series in which Dr. Bruce Banner is forced to live with incredible unwanted powers that make him a target to be destroyed or captured by the authorities.

The movie begins very slowly by carefully introducing the different characters, but it soon picks up speed. Even though it is a comic-book fantasy, the story is built around two parallel father-child relationships: a general and his daughter, a scientist and his son.

Some are distracted by the Hulk's computer generated character, but in my opinion the visual intensity and emotional depth of this movie make it a work of art.
